Our new Blacksticks campaign was unveiled at the 15th Annual Blacksticks 10K road race in Whitechapel on Sunday 12th May.
The annual 10K race, organised by Whitechapel Primary School PTFA, has become a popular race with local running clubs from Lancashire, Greater Manchester and Cumbria over the last fifteen years. Starting and finishing in the glorious sunshine at Whitechapel village hall, Female Body Works of Preston took runners through a warm-up, before the route up to Beacon Fell and back again saw the fastest finish in Blacksticks 10K history. Joe Beech, of Preston Harriers crossed the line in 00:33:22 together with 222 runners including seven of our amazing employees. 50 juniors took on the 1K fun run with all monies raised supporting Whitechapel Primary School and multi-use games area.
All runners received a wedge of Blacksticks at the finish and were able to plan of all the new ways they could eat it at home, thanks to the sneak peek of our new Blacksticks national ad campaign, which has just launched in Manchester. The campaign urges cheese lovers to "break the rules" and aims to inspire new, accessible blue cheese eating occasions, be it a mid-week sandwich, cheese on toast, or a gourmet burger.
